Great news! The Autism Society of the Black Hills has been invited to participate in the Northern Hills Federal Credit Union Community Challenge. This is a great opportunity for our organization to earn a donation from Northern Hills Federal but we’ll need your help to get the biggest donation possible.
What is the Community Challenge?
- The goal is to save people in our communities $1,000,000 in loan interest through the rest of the year.
- When someone refinances or consolidates their loan, the interest savings will count towards the goal of $1,000,000.
- Once the goal is reached, Northern Hills Federal will donate $7,000 to five local charities and you decide which charity receives the largest donation.
- The charity that receives the most votes in the online poll at MyCUSaves.org will receive $3,000, the second place charity will receive $2,000, the third place charity will receive $1,000, and the fourth and fifth place charities will receive $500 each. You can also vote after refinancing a loan with Northern Hills Federal Credit Union.
For more details on the Community Challenge and to vote for us, visit MyCUSaves.org.
SUPPORT GROUPS: DATES AND TIMES TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON
Dennis will be taking children with Asperger’s Syndrome, PDD, NOS and high functioning autism for one hour per week for approximately six weeks on a one to one basis for a new program: Communication Assessment Training (CAT). The program is a visual and concrete design that attracts attention of the children and encourages them to talk about their thoughts and emotions in a non-defensive manner. This program kit helps them express their feelings and emotions without meltdowns and temper tantrums as well as when they are in conflict. It also teaches a lot about human emotions, self-insight, assertiveness, circle of friends, personal interests, conflict resolution and sensory issues. Please contact Dennis at 721-5533 for further information. The cost is only $15 per week for the program with ASBH covering the rest of the expenses. Don’t delay! Space is limited.
